Central Administration

OVERALL DUTIES OF THE DEPARTMENT

Strategy formulation and Implementation, Leadership and Management of Department, Corporate Governance, Relationship Management, Management of Human Resources and Organisational Development

Sections falling under the Central Administration Services are

 Central Administration

The section is responsible for the provision of Secretarial services to Council and Committee meetings in terms of the Urban Councils Act.

Human Resources Management

The section is responsible for the provision of effective Human Resources Management.

Records Management

The section is responsible for the provision of sound records management

Security

The section provides security of Municipal Infrastructure and by-law enforcement

Public Relations

The Section is responsible for management of Public Relations and Public Affairs, Investment Promotion, Customer Care and Media Relations and Corporate Communications.

Information Communication Technology Section

The Information Communication Technology is housed under the Town Clerk’s office. The section ensures there is connectivity to all the departments of the organisation. The section maintains the database system and ensures data integrity, protection and performance of the systems. The ICT section also trains all departments on the PROMUN packages and trains users on various computer packages e.g. MS word, excel etc.
